Drug Title Acticin (Permethrin) Drug Uses Acticin is an anti-parasite medication (cream) that is used for the treatment of head lice and scabies. How it is taken The best way to take is as recommended by your doctor. Do not take it in a larger dose or for a longer while than recommended by your doctor. Clean and dry your skin and then apply a thin layer of the cream to all parts of the body from below the neck to the soles of the feet. Rub it in completely. Leave it on for a period of 8 to 14 hours and then wash it off thoroughly. Itching may be experienced after application. However, it does not mean that the treatment is ineffective. If you see living mites after even 14 days of treatment, then a retreatment will be necessary. Missed DosageIf you miss a dose of, then you may take it as soon as you remember and adjust the remaining doses accordingly. Do not take a double dose to make up for the missed dose. StorageStore it at room temperature (between 59 and 86 degrees F (15 and 30 degrees C) in an air tight container protecting it from direct exposure to light, heat and moisture. Keep away from pets and children. Warnings/Precautions If Acticin gets into your eyes, then flush and wash immediately with water. Do not use in infants below two months of age as the safety of the product in these children is not confirmed. If you are pregnant or suspect that you are, then discuss with your doctor before using Acitin. It is unknown whether Accupril is secreted in breast milk. Avoid breast feeding while using the drug. Possible Side Effects Severe side effects include allergic reactions (rash, hives, itching, difficulty breathing, tightness in the chest, swelling of the mouth, face, lips, or tongue). Seek medical attention immediately if these side effects occur. |
